Year 2 - Trip to the Southwark Fire Brigade Museum and The Monument - 16 March

'First we walked to the train station and then we got on the train. We played a memory shopping game while we were on it. After we had played we had reached our stop at London Bridge Station. We saw The Shard on our way to the Fire Brigade Museum and had to look out for fire hydrants. At the museum Jane showed us all of the fire engines which were really big. We tried on lots of outfits that the fireman used to wear a long time ago. Some of them were really heavy. The hats they used to wear covered their eyes and were made of leather. They used to have leather buckets as well and fire hooks to pull down buildings.

After lunch went for a run in the park and then had to do lots of walking.  We walked passed the Clink Prison and up to Southwark Bridge and along the River Thames.  Next we walked over London Bridge and saw HMS Belfast. We saw St. Paul’s Cathedral and stopped at The Monument. Then we walked back to the station and got the train home. We were very tired after our long day!'
