Years 5 & 6 - Riverston School Athletics Meeting - 16 March

'This afternoon, some children from Year 5 & 6 were picked by Mr McCabe to do an athletics afternoon at Riverston School. I was picked to do the obstacle course and the relay race.  I was really excited when the man called out my events.  In the obstacle race we came third and in the relay race we came fourth.  Overall, I liked the day and I hope to get picked to do it again'.

'Today, Years 5 & 6 went to Riverston School to do athletics.  My event was the vertical jump.  The vertical jump is where you stand straight and mark the height of your hand on the wall.  the you leap with chalk and mark how far you have jumped, which is measured.  I came last but it was great fun.  First we had 2 practise goes and then 2 real jumps.  It was really fun and I want to do it again!'

Everyone was chosen to do a particular race. I was chosen to do the vertical high jump. I came 5th which was last but I enjoyed it and tried very hard.
