'Red Nose-Day' - 18 March
'On the 18th March we had a very special day. This day was called Red Nose Day. We have Red Nose Day so that we can raise money for poor people around the world. We have been collecting money at the school gates so that children can have a Red Nose for a pound. On the actual day year 6 led the assembly, we danced to the Red Nose Day song and hosted a game that was like family fortunes but we called it ‘ All Star Red Nose Fortunes ’ We all had a good time while wearing our red clothes and we hope that everyone else did too'.

'On Friday 18th, it was Red Nose Day where year six had to organise a dance to perform in front of the whole school, it was very fun! And some of us had to do Family Fortunes, I was on one team that got 212 points but the other team got 270 points so they won. I think everyone enjoyed our Red Nose Day assembly and so did I!'

'From Monday 14th to Friday 18th March, West Lodge School celebrated Red NoseDay by raising money to help some of the world’s poorest families that had been affected by war or poverty. All through the week Year 6 sold red noses at the school gate, costing £1, to the children. The staff were shocked by the fact that there were no more left by Wednesday!!!
On Friday it was the big day and Year 6 made a Red Nose presentation where the whole school sang and danced to theRed Nose day song. Finally, presented their Family Fortunes PowerPoint production featuring team 'Wes't and team 'Lodge'. In the end, Team Lodge won by 58 points. All in all we all had a blast, everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and I know I did!!!'

'On the 18th of March West Lodge celebrated Red Nose Day with Year 6 doing an assembly. We started with the Red Nose Dance and showing two films about Francis and Sunday; children who were affected by the Northern Ugandan war. Then two of the year 6s chose two teachers Mrs. Farrell and Miss. Burke and two people from each class in Year 3-6 for an All Star Red Nose Day Fortunes fame. At the end of the All Star Red Nose Day Fortunes quiz, Miss. Burke’s team won by 65 points and it was a very joyful day!'
Jemima F - Year 6
'West Lodge School celebrated Red Nose day on the 18th March 2011. Year 6 had been collecting money by selling red noses for £1 each. On the actual day though, the whole of Year 6 gave out stickers to everyone at the gate. Mr Stevens was also collecting for the EllenorLions Hospice.
We then had our assembly and Year 6 performed their Red Nose Day dance, dancing to the 2011 song ‘Entertain!’ It was very fun to do and everybody enjoyed it! We afterwards hosted a Family Fortunes style game, with Miss Burke’s team winning with the total score of 270! Mrs Farrell’s team unfortunately lost with a score of 217! At a later time in the day, some of us read a story about a Ugandan boy called Phillip to Nursery and Reception classes. We did this so they could understand where the collected money goes to and why.
We eventually raised the grand total of... £227.57! It was wonderful to do, especially knowing who we are helping!'
