PLANNED EVENTS

We hope you have all had a relaxing break and are enjoying the sunny weather.

There are quite a few events coming up at the school that the PA are organising, so thought we’d give you a brief insight into what’s happening.

This Friday 11th June we have the West Lodge Summer Ball. There will be an auction and a raffle taking place during the evening. The auction list has already been circulated and we hope this will raise a lot of money for the children at the school. The Raffle prizes are £100 cash, 8gb Silver Ipod Nano and a Digital Photo Frame. Rather than the traditional method of selling cloakroom tickets we have decided to ask people to pop their names and telephone number on a £5 note and this will act as your raffle ticket. You may hand it to either Petrena or Tania at the gate morning or afternoon this week. If you miss that opportunity there will be envelopes on the tables at the ball for you to do the same. So far we have sold 163 tickets for the ball which is great considering it’s only the second West Lodge Ball, we believe there will be a really good atmosphere and with it being such a great venue, am sure everyone will have a wonderful evening. There are 15 tickets still available to anyone interested.

As most of you know the school is 70 years old this year and the PA will be organising a ‘street party’ for the children in the school playground on Friday 18th June. There will be an entertainer and some fun and games for the children with the spirit of the 1940’s in mind. There will be a 70 years anniversary tea towel with all the children’s self portraits on for sale as well as a West Lodge Trolley key ring. The tea towel will be on sale for £3.50 and the key ring £1. Petrena and Tania will be selling these morning and afternoon at the school gates, running up to the Street Party. The PA have also organised for all the children in the school to receive a commemorative West Lodge Teddy key ring and this will be given out at the Street Party. We are sure that the children will have a lovely afternoon.

One last thing to say is the PA have their final meeting this term – Wednesday 16th June, 7.30 pm in the staff room. It would be great to see some new people join…..alot of the year 6 mums will be leaving in the summer and we’d like to recruit a others…….If you feel you wouldn’t mind helping but don’t really have time for the meetings we’d still like to know as sometimes just helping on a stall once a year is a great help.
