Our Governance

St Dunstan's Education Group

Our schools are part of St Dunstan's Education Group (SDEG), a family of independent schools and nurseries across South East London, including St Dunstan’s College Junior School and St Dunstan’s College Senior School in Catford, St Christopher’s the Hall School in Beckenham, West Lodge Preparatory School in Sidcup and Rosemead Preparatory School Dulwich.

St Dunstan's Education Group is governed by a single Group Board of Trustees, which acts as the proprietor of all the schools, nurseries and subsidiary organisations within the Group. The Board is responsible for the Group's long-term vision, educational strategy, financial sustainability, safeguarding, regulatory compliance, risk management and overall performance.

As a not-for-profit educational organisation, any surplus generated by the Group is reinvested into its schools, people, facilities and educational programmes, helping to enhance opportunities for current and future pupils.

Leadership

The Group Board delegates responsibility for the day-to-day management of the organisation to the Group's executive leadership team, led by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nick Hewlett, who together with the Heads of the Group's schools and nurseries, are responsible for delivering the Group's vision and strategy.

Our Vision

St Dunstan's Education Group exists to provide exceptional educational opportunities for children and young people across south east London.

The Group brings together schools and nurseries that share expertise, collaborate closely and support one another, while maintaining their own unique identity and ethos. This approach is captured in the Group's guiding philosophy:

Excellence. Differently.

A commitment to excellence in education, wellbeing, character development and opportunity, combined with a willingness to innovate and think differently about the needs of young people in a changing world. To find out more visit: St Dunstan's Education Group

Local Governance

Each school within the group has its own Local School Board (LSB), which works closely with the Group Board and the school leadership team.

Our Local School Board members provide support, challenge and oversight at school level, helping to preserve the school's distinctive character, culture and traditions while ensuring that pupils continue to receive an excellent education. They also provide valuable local insight and assurance to the Group Board. The Local School Board meets with the Head, the Group CEO and a Link member of the Group Board termly.

We have a separate Local School Board for the Senior School and the Junior School
