Spanish Speaking International Week
International Week, held in February, was a celebration of the rich diversity of cultures within our school community. Activities on Monday – Thursday focused on Spanish speaking countries, linking with pupils’ Spanish learning, and providing them with the opportunity to speak in Spanish throughout the week.
Each class focussed on learning about one of eight Spanish speaking countries, exploring the culture of the country through music, cookery, film, research, dance and special dishes from around the world cooked by our catering team.
At the end of the week each child used their ‘passport’ to travel to different ‘countries’ (classrooms) to grow their knowledge and understanding.
On Friday students and staff were invited to wear traditional clothing from their culture or the colours of the class country’s flag.
