School Journey: Paris 2026

Year 5 and 6 children enjoyed our School Journey to Paris.
Staying in Lesigny at an impressive château to the east of Paris the children experienced a range of fun, cultural and adventurous activities.

The trip started with the ferry crossing in lovely calm conditions which was a new experience for many. Following the lengthy coach journey the group arrived in Paris for an evening swim, dinner and activities.
Day 2 started with a morning visit to Brie Compte Robert, the home of the famous French cheese Brie. This was followed by outdoor games and archery tag proved particularly popular.
Day 3 was, for many, the highlight of the trip with a visit to the Parc Asterix theme park. With something for everyone we all had a great day and many of the thrill seekers enjoyed two particularly terrifying rides Oziris and Toutatis which reaches speeds of 66 mph!
Thursday was all about the disco and a day time trip to Paris which introduced the children to the magnificence of the city with visits to the Arc de Triomphe and a brief history lesson from Mr Francis, a walk along the Avenue des Champs-Élysées to the Place de la Concorde, a climb up the Eiffel Tower to experience the breathtaking views and a boat trip along the Seine followed by an ice-cream in the rain.

The return journey was broken up with a trip to the WW1 museum in Albert which the children found interesting and engaging. Well done to all of the children who embraced the experience and coped brilliantly with five days away from home.
